Job: He's really just a thief, but Mes will work for individuals from time to time, (ex, encyclopedia-maker, as a spy for a country, gossip-gatherer for some rich noble, etc) for money, items or favours he deems interesting. He just loves to know things. He'll record information and news, as well as drawings and maps of the land in his journals and parchments, and sell some later.

Talents:

Haggling - Hot dayam he is so good at this is HAS to count as a talent. He can get a a couch the price of a hat. (not that he'd want a couch.) Can often talk people into giving him free stuff.

Mapmaking/drawing - He needs to be good at drawing to record things accurately. He's especially good at drawing contour maps and terrain.

Pickpocketing - His lack of a steady job and habit of spending what money he has on fancy supplies means he's usually quite out of money. He has an affinity for rare trinkets, good booze, and heavy purses.

Personality:Mesfae is really an easily approachable, affable fellow, though perhaps a little moral-loose. He's a very people-person, a bit overly familiar with strangers, and he'll often ~~try and fail~~ to hit on pretty women. More often than not, people think themselves to be good friends, only to find their wallets or something else important missing and Mes long gone. He basically behaves in a very familiar, friendly manner to everyone.

It's very hard to get rtruely close to him, as he dislikes being tied down to anyone or anyplace. He actually doesn't trust people that much, not deeply, anyways. Mes really can't maintain any kind of long-term relationship. He will woo certain people, get close, but will leave fairly soon after getting whatever he wanted, or just for fun. So not much really bothers him emotionally deeply. He considers many serious things as just interesting games, but he does value his life a lot and is a bit of a coward when he is in danger.

He looks a lot more like a warrior than a thieving scholar, something he often plays to his advantage as he's a pretty good actor. But he messes up a lot, acting all smooth and suave but trip or else ways ruin the image. He'll collects an array of showy weapons, mainly just to impress people. His 'fighting' skills consists of 1. Running away very fast, 2. Getting out of the grips of angry people.His tail is too heavy to be used in fights, and he mainly uses it to open bottles.

History: Both his parents were warriors, but he rejected that job from the very beginning, and was far more interested drawing bugs, reading books and stealing things.

They were not horrible parents, but they were away so much and didn't know their kid well at all. He learned from the rascals in town and hermits and nice neighbours, and got a lot of habits that his parents deemed shameful and useless. It was one they they all of a sudden seemed to realize what kind of kid Mesfae really was. Determined to change it, they denied him stuff he loved and applied harsher methods to hone him into a warrior. He in turn ran away from home to travel with a group of travelling scholars when he was about 14, and learned a a lot from them.

When he returned to Elavernis a few years later to do a big stealing job, his parents somehow caught wind of it and sold him out. He was imprisoned and while he was in prison his father came and told him what a disappointment he was, and they disowned him. He escaped a few days later, but was quite hurt by this, even though he was never close to his parents to begin with.

He was born in Elavernis but travels so much you can't really say he belongs anywhere. He really likes Alora, actually, he likes the weather.

Additional Info:
As you can see, he carries a lot of baggage. He loves fancy stationary and supplies, and as you guessed, the telescope is stolen and he loves it very much. The parchment is constantly being renewed; filled, sold and blanks are bought again.

He can fly, not for that long because his wings aren't that big, but pretty good in short bursts and good maneuverability.

His has a blackbird companion, named Nick because he likes to nick things. (haha. Punny, eh? x'D -shot-) JOn a whim one year, he saw the bedraggled, starving bird and fed it. It in turn stole his telescope.
Later on that day Mes was caught by some angry past associate and put in a prison. The blackbird appeared at the cell window, with his telescope and piece of wire. Mes picked the lock with his wire and escaped. He liked and related to the thieving, homeless bird and they became companions.

He can use magic, but hasn't ever done it or plans to. He only knows a few types, one is to teleport himself anywhere, and the other stronger is to be able to block certain parts of people memory.

That scar on his face is from a barfight (or rather, a barfight he didn't really escape fast enough) when an angry person he'd annoyed very much threw a steak knife.

ARGH. When I saw Voleros, I was like, "MUST JOIN", or attempt to, anyways. x'D I was planning to make a green dragon character for ages.

Dx I don't draw people nearly enough... that bust is REALLY annoying me. Like, REALLY. I did minimal shading because I tried to shade it FOUR times four different ways and it just wasn't cooperating so yeahh.... He's bisexual, btw, really only because of one of my friend's super sexy characters. x'D BUT HE NEVER NEVAH HIT ON MEN. They must make the first move. >8C
His design is so... nonstriking. You could place in in ANY random rpg/those online game thingeys and he'd blend right in. I don't even play those games and I know... e__e;
